Thermal conductivity of PbTe–CoSb3 bulk polycrystalline composite: role of microstructure and interface thermal resistance

چکیده

Systematic experimental and theoretical research on the role of microstructure interface thermal resistance conductivity PbTe-CoSb3 bulk polycrystalline composite is presented. In particular, correlation between particle size dispersed phase (R_{int}) phonon (\kappa_{ph}) discussed. With this aim, a series PbTe-CoSb_3 materials with different sizes CoSb_3 was prepared. The structural (XRD) microstructural analysis (SEM/EDXS) confirmed assumed chemical compositions. acoustic impedance difference (\Delta Z) determined from measured sound velocities in PbTe phases. calculated using Debye model agrees R_{int}. It shown that \kappa_{ph} may be reduced when (CoSb_3) smaller than critical value ~230nm. This relationship concluded to crucial for controlling heat transport phenomena thermoelectric materials. selection components elastic properties (acoustic impedance) Kapitza radius leads new direction engineering TE designed

Thermal conductivity of bulk and monolayer MoS2

We show that the lattice contribution to the thermal conductivity of MoS2 strongly dominates the carrier contribution in a broad temperature range from 300 to 800K. Since theoretical insight into the lattice contribution is largely missing, though it would be essential for materials design, we solve the Boltzmann transport equation for the phonons self-consistently in order to evaluate the phon...

Thermal Contact Resistance and Thermal Conductivity of a Carbon Nanofiber

We have measured the thermal resistance of a 152-nm-diameter carbon nanofiber before and after a platinum layer was deposited on the contacts between the nanofiber and the measurement device. The contact resistance was reduced by the platinum coating for about 9–13% of the total thermal resistance of the nanofiber sample before the platinum coating. At a temperature of 300 K, the axial thermal ...

Thermal conductivity and thermal boundary resistance of nanostructures

: We present a fabrication process of low-cost superlattices and simulations related with the heat dissipation on them. The influence of the interfacial roughness on the thermal conductivity of semiconductor/semiconductor superlattices was studied by equilibrium and non-equilibrium molecular dynamics and on the Kapitza resistance of superlattice's interfaces by equilibrium molecular dynamics. T...
